Sub-Routine Descriptions
The following are Sub-Routines a character gains as they progress in Function Level:

Well-Equipped: Regardless of the situation, Engineers always make sure to have good tools to work with. At 2nd level, any Program Check bonuses provided by Equipment or Transformation Properties an Engineer may have are increased by +1. This bonus increases once again at every 4 levels, for a total of +2 at 6th level, +3 at 10th level, and +4 at 14th level.

Knowledgeable: Nothing is more important for Engineers than knowing what they are doing. Starting at 3rd level, Engineers gain a +2 bonus to any Knowledge Program Check they make. This bonus increases by +2 for every 5 Engineer levels thereafter, to +4 at 8th level, +6 at 13th level, and +8 at 18th level.

Technical Focus: Engineers spend a lot of time tinkering with their gear to give it superior qualities. Starting at 3rd level and once again every 3 levels beyond that, Engineers may choose one of the following:

  • Increase the point value of a specific Weapon by 2
  • Increase their Equipment Points by 2
  • Increase their Transformation Points by 2
  • Add 2 points of Modifications to a specific Propulsion

The effects of these increases are cumilative, so that an Engineer who takes this sub-routine twice for Equipment would have 4 additional Equipment points to work with.

Miracle Worker: Time is always against Engineers, so they learn to get the job done faster than others could ever hope for. At 5th level, Engineers may complete Repair and Construct Program Checks in 3/4 of the time that it normally takes. As they gain levels, they further reduce the time, down to 1/2 normal at 10th level, 1/4 normal at 15th level, and a mere 1/8 normal by 20th level.
